Hello,
We have a customer that we are moving their 8x24 and NAM with ACD. When I do the backup of the NAM will it also backup the ACD programming? Or is there other feature codes that have to be acessed to Back that up also.
Thanks for the help.
Dmac,

When you do a floopy disk back up in Maintence it should back up all the NAM parameters

Backing up and Restoring programing
Overview
Frequent backups ensure that configuration information can be restored if Norstar
Voice Mail programing information is lost or the NAM (NAM) is replaced.
When you back up Norstar Voice Mail programing, you will copy the following:
 System configuration parameters
 Company Greetings
 Mailbox programing
 Directory Name recordings
 Group Lists
CCR information including CCR Trees, paths, and prompts
 personal greetings
 personalized greeting setup
Voice messages are not copied when you back up your Norstar Voice Mail
programing.

DMAC,
Make sure you do the secur back up too!!!! Without that you may have problems later.

Cheers
PhM

Arr,
Is that another option that they give you from the prompts? Secure backup.
Dmac,

SEKUR, spelled sekur, backs up the capabilities file, which includes the number of voice and fax channels. It contains the data for any key codes that have been added.
It is performed from the FEATURE 915 prompts.

CAUTION: When you do a backup for Norstar Voice Mail Programming, you are NOT doing any backup for ACD.

Thanks guys,
Actually I've done the capabilities backup before on other NAM's. No way to backup ACD stuff though. What a bummer.
Dmac,

I think you can do some ACD backups through the ACD side, but can't say that I have ever done it.

What ACD is running on the NAM? I have a few sites with Cinphony, that I backup. You definitely need to do it through the ACD side of things. I usually do it from the OS2 desktop.

(this assumes that you are using Cinphony)

Open the OS2 prompt window.
put yourself to the Cinphony directory (C:\CINPHONY). (if the window opens to the C:\ prompt, you can type in "cd cinphony" and this will put you to that directory.

insert a blank floppy to the NAM.

type at the c:\cinphony prompt: copy *.dat a
this will copy all of your dat files to the floppy

when time to restore, open the OS2 prompt and go to the floppy with the files. (A:\)

at the a:\ prompt type in: copy *.dat c:\cinphony
this will put them where you need them.

hope that helps.

erikweste,
I'm not sure if it is Cinphony. I will find out. Thanks for the help everyone.
Dmac,

Hello,
I found out that it is a Minuet ACD. I have heard of it. How much different is it from the Cinphony?
Thanks,
Dmac,

Minuet is quite a "Bare Boned" ACD package. It is kind of like a sampler package for Cinphony. Not much to it. In fact, I (think) it was shipped with NAMs for free for a period of time.

DMac,
MarvO has the poop. I've installed Minuette. It's OK. Did a quick search of the documentation but can't see anything in the index that directly relates to an ACD back up. Suggest calling Cintech 1800 944 3901.
I have found then very helpful indeed.
