I'm trying to backup MS exchange 5.5 mailboxes and I am getting a failed job status because it is reporting corupt files in some of the users mailboxes.

ex.

WARNING: "<USER> ?Top of Information Store?Inbox? [nhtl amembers] RE: expert-premises/slip & fall" is a corrupt fiel.
This file cannot verify.
^^^^^

It looks like a certain e-mail is corrupted, but this is happening on 5 users or so.

should I go ahead and have them delete these e-mails? Or could this be a different problem. I just have never seen this before.

Any suggestions would be most appreciated.
Thanks.

I have the same issue here. It appears that BE does not like some forms of e-mail attachments and reports them as corrupt, when in fact they are not.

I just ignore those errors. mot98

I'm having a similar problem, although with me it's "Unable to attach to \\EXCHANGE\Microsoft Exchange Mailboxes.
Access is denied." I don't know very much about Exchange. Where are the mailboxes? my thinking is that there would be an actual file(s) for users' mailboxes, but i can't find anything.

natcmonkey,

Do you have the Exchange agent installed? mot98

mot98,

I would assume so. I just inherited these servers from the old admin here and i've never used some of this stuff before (including veritas) It's been working up until last thursday.

Is there a patch to resolve this issue. I am using bakcup exec. ver. 8.5

With regards to the problems with being "Unable to attach to \\EXCHANGE\Microsoft Exchange Mailboxes. Access denied. Just be worth checking that the Backup Exec Mailbox is not hidden. This will cause this to happen. Just go to the main Exchange Window and check on View_Hidden Mailboxes.
