Hi all
i have aloha 6.4.25. The last few days we have computer problem that needs restart to get it working again so i am thinking about getting a backup computer for BOH. Righ now it's Dell pc in office for BOH and two terminals in front.
I have an extra Dell PC running window xp almost identical to the working one with ALoha BOH. i would like to know if i can set up my new computer to run BOH and keep it in case of the working one broke down so that i can put this one in for replacemence. Thanks so much for helping,
Also, i would appreciate if there is way to download aloha 6.4.25 to keep.
thanks

Thank you very much Coorsman for the iso download link. I downloaded already and in process to prepare my extra dell computer for the BOH. I try to read here and there threads to learn a bit more and understand it's kind of complicated with my limited background. I have Usb type hasp key on my BOH right now, question is can it be remove during business hours for minutes or hours so i can put it in the new one to install Aloha POS.
Anyway will ask more questions when it come.
thanks

You can remove the HASP while doing business. Just make sure it is connected before refreshing, rebooting, End of Day etc.

how can i find out my aloha security key to install Aloha Manager?
it asks for SEC1 to SEC6.
when installed, i see it on C:\bootdrv\aloha but on my working BOH pc it is on C:\aloha. is there a problem with this installation?
thanks

ok after more reading, i got the SEC1-SEC6 from aloha.ini. thanks

what are the most important files to copy from old BOH to a new one? i hope i don't have to create a menu again with the new pc for aloha POS BOH.

thanks

You can copy the entire aloha folder over to the new computer. That will backup everything ( you would still need to install she software). Also look for a EDC folder ,sometimes it's on the c:\ or d:\ drive.

The Aolha\data, Aloha\newdata, Aloha\bmp and \Aloha\EDC contain all the menu programming and EDC parameters.

Cheers,
Coorsman
