Hi,

I am facing a problem when backing up a Microsoft Cluster Server (MSCS) quorum disk (Q:) on a remote server using the Open File Option. The error message states:

OFO: Volume name is invalid or not available
OFO: Initialization failure on: "\\Server\Q$"

However, immediately following the above error message, the backup process continues and the files in the quorum disk are backed up successfully. Unfortunately, Veritas reports the job status as "Failed".

I am using Backup Exec v8.0 (Build 3311). Appreciate any advise. Thanks!

Hello,

I can't offer any advise, but I was wondering if you could help me.

I need to back up a W2k 2 node cluster from a different media server. So I need to install the remote agent on the cluster. I'm just not to sure how to go about it and can't find any specific doc's on it. Do I install it
on both of the individual nodes, or on the virtual node?

Any help would be great.

Cheers Simon.
