Does anyone know how to create custom backgrounds. I have
some jpeg files that I would like to use instead of the ones
that came with IRIX 6.5 that I have installed on my
Indigo2. I found that you have to have a file .backgrounds
in your home directory. I created it but I don't have it set
up properly on using the jpeg images. Can anyone help ?

Have you seen the man pages of 'background' and 'bgpaste'?
Perhaps you find a solution there. Also the file .sgisession can be used to do some tricks when logging in.
