Background Processing

can anyone tell me the best way of calling crystal from vb
When i take a report in crystal one page is displayed and other pages are processed in the background and hence the report comes fast.When i take the same report in Vb it comes only after complete procesing.Is there a way for background processing like in crystal?

It is a simple Stock report but it has 10000 items.So when I go to Crystal report and open it it opens fast -the first page displayed but when i call the same report from vb report is displayed only after all the pages are processed and hence it takes time.

When you say it is fast 'when you open it', Does it preview immediately? You might just be looking at saved data. Do you have saved data in the report? Ken Hamady

no i have no saved data-i have not ticked this option.
It previews after reasonable time and if i hit stop i can see that it has reached only may be page 200 of total 450 pages

When the first page finally previews in the application, does the preview window still say:

Page 1 of 1+

at the top or does it know the final page count? Ken Hamady
