We are using Brightstore 9 and keep filling up tapes (35/70 with hw compression).
The activity log is reporting the approximately 49gb will be backed up. Then the tape fills.
When looking at file properties, however, the actual sizes of the files to be backed up are more like 20Gb.

Why is Brightstor reporting (& sending?) twice the file size to tape?

Thanks in advance

You may have the "decompress files before backup" on. Remember, compression is approximate. Also, have you verified that your jobs are not appending the tapes instead of overwriting?

We are getting approx 45 Gb on one tape but thought there was only 20 to go on.
Have checked file sizes again and it looks like Brightstor is actually reporting sizes correctly, it's the OS that was reporting the folder sizes wrong.
