HI.

I'm in the process of setting up a Backup server, with scsi adaptec 39160 and I use staging option with dell autoloader powervault 124t.

I config dell pv124t with device configuration.
configured 2 groups FTape and ITape
Tape 1 -8 for Ftape (full-tape)
Tape 9-16 for Itape (incremental)

I config tree staging groups
fdata
differ
fgalaxy

it is works.

all backups job is working.

after reboot machine, I lost my configuration , I reconfig the setting. it 's work.

Ftape and Itape was rename group0

My question is, do I need anything to good configuration my groups?

Any help/advice would be greatly appreciated.

This can happen if there is any change in the configuration such as drive designation. The Tape Engine checks the OS device map in the registry and any change there can result in this.

Try disabling the library and tape drives from within the OS Device Manager, or at least do not load the Dell LTO driver.

I changed my setup and everything works.

thank you for your help
