Hi everyone

We just got a B189 to play with but I cannot get it to work correctly with external calls. It only works fine with internal ones.

It is configured as a 9620 type as manuals say. I tried login different extensions which work just fine on 9611 phones. A 9611 in the same port works fine as well so there are no porblems with the network.

I keep getting one-way audio on external calls to the PSTN. The other end can hear me but not the other way around. Speakers are working as internal calls are successful.

Any clue?

Maybe check the RTP ports defined in the phone match the ones defined in your network region?

I don't see how I can configure RTP ports in any ip phone model

Nop, I'm on 6.6.0. The Avaya ftp seems not to be working so I could not download it. Anyway, I will do it soon.

What kind of PSTN? Is it running SIP or H.323?

Verify that the B189 is moving to the voice vlan like the 9611 should be. That puts it in a different IP network and if it is not in the voice vlan could explain the voice traffic not being able to find it. Traffic from the pone flows out foolwing the default routes but traffic in cannot reach the phone.

I did not expect what happened... I came in today and the B189 is now working. No one touched it...

By the way, it is H323 and the vlan was correctly configured.

I cannot explain why it is working now
