I have an odd one. I have a B179 that worked great for 2 weeks. They moved it to another room and it won't boot up and pull a DHCP address. They can take a J169 and plug it into the same cord, and it comes up just fine. We moved it back to its original location and it does the same thing. We even statically assigned an IP, still nothing. I can't ping it. It's like the NIC port died. I returned it and got another B179 thinking it was defective. The new one worked great for a month. Now the same exact problem. IP Office is running 11.0.4.4. Once it does this, I can't access it via the browser.

The fact that you had a working phone that stopped working, you replaced it with a working phone that worked for a month or so, and then did the same thing you seem to have an underlying issue. Something is causing those phones to fail and it most likely would be hardware related. It could be something like your POE switch can't recognize the needed power for the B179 and eventually fries it. Hard to say for sure without a ton more information.

The truth is just an excuse for lack of imagination.
