Got a weird problem with over 30 Avaya B179 conference phones installed on Communication Manager 6.3.2.1, after working for a couple of months all the phones on one floor locked up within a few minutes of each other, after rebooting the phones they locked again shortly thereafter. The switches are Cisco 4510 switches with a VLAN for the voice, DHCP is being handled by a Microsoft server, all other IP phones are working fine. The firmware on the B179 is the latest, 2.4.1.5 and there are other B179 conference phones working at other sites with this version.

Thanks in advanced.

B179 is a SIP endpoint that register to Session Manager not CM. Can you provide more info when you mean lock up status? Are the sets completely not doing anything? Can you ping them? Have you checked the status in the User Registration in system manager/session manager page?

Had a problem with B179 before with a weird behaviour and deleting/recreating the SIP user was the fix.

They don't do anything, can't ping them at all, seems like a network problem but its only the B179 conference phones. I'll have to check status in the User Registration
