Hi ya,

Fairly simple question; the SD card in the B179 conference phone, is it proprietary (supplied by AVAYA) or can I use my own one?

(I managed to get one on ebay for £7, it works, just I cant local record).

Also while I'm at it; its normal that the unit doesn't receive incoming calls?

(Just doing this in my home office for fun).

Martin

It's not proprietary.

You have to have an incoming call route or hunt group assigned to it's extension.

Thank you

I continue hunting in regards to the SD card.. currently thebunktbrepkrts ad error

As for ringing... suddenly I can call it.

I did do a code upgrade but one thing ivenlestned about old kit, sometimes it takes a little tine to work

Thanks again

Martin

My first suspicion would be card size. The capacities of SD cards have grown a lot larger than most hardware engineers ever anticpated. I'd start by putting in the smallest SD card I could find rather than any 500GB wopper.

Stuck in a never ending cycle of file copying.

Now that's a good tip! Thank you

Currently I have a 16gb in it - I shall try a 4gb

Thanks again :)

So I put a 4gb SD card in the unit and it recognized it ok.

Thanks for the tip

Martin

Oddly enough the manual states it supports up to 2GB cards... which is probably hard to find nowadays.

"Memory Support for SD memory cards up to 2 GB"

The truth is just an excuse for lack of imagination.
