I've searched the database for this answer but can't seem to find it. Why is it when I convert a Text field to a button symbol the button won't work. i.e. no hand appears when I hover over it?

Most probably because you left the Selectable tab (Ab) selected in the textfield's properties?

You're a legend. That was the problem. I'm new to flash - you wouldn't have worked that out though!!!
