I would like to set up a voicemail box that you can have a greeting, but you cannot leave messages on that voicemail account. I have several information lines for employees that change everyday with start time and other important daily information. People will leave messages on these voicemail accounts. We want them to be able to listen to the greeting, but not be able to leave a message. We use IP Office 4.0.14 with VMPro.

you could use some custom call flows in the voicemail pro. Add your user and a leave mail start point. then take the start and connect it to a generic with a .wav file in it. Set up a short code to record that wav file. Now your user dials a code and records the wav file and your end users just dial the extension and it play the generic and disconnects them.

With Embedded Voicemail, Voicemail Lite or Voicemail Pro in IP Office mode, the mailbox user can record a greeting that plays as a continuous loop.

Otherwise using custom calls flows provides a lot more options (including special routes to change the recordings).

record mailbox greeting
save with option 4 (Vm lite & VM Pro in IP Office mode)

Go in the VMPr client to the specific area ( Upper left ), add the user you want and select the "Leave" box. In the Users call flow add a generic action, enable a .wav file or record one , add a disconnect action and link the startpoint to the generic action and from the generic action to the difconnect action.

To quote the show, 'Computer says NO'. Its the milliseconds that count.

Access your mailbox (VMPro in IPOfficemode or VM-Lite)

Press 3 edit greeting
Press 2 to record greeting
Press 4 to save greeting as loop (normaly you use 3 to save the greeting)

Couldn't you simply change the mailbox status (option 8)? The greeting plays, but then the system disconnects...

make a module not a VM box. use SC/ICR to get the caller to the module.
