Hi all.

I'm as new as a new thing to DW. A clue (as to just how new) might lie in the fact that I have come to a grinding halt on my first attempt at a home page!

All went fine until I hit F12 to see my efforts in IE - at this point I discovered that the image was not being displayed. It was replaced by the dreaded Red X. I have the same result with all image file-types.

Wondering if it might be something to do with file-type associations I have gone through the DW 'Preferences' (although I may be missing the same thing each time). So far I have seen nothing in DW 'Help' which enlightens me on this either

Searched Google - nada! Have just tried a keyword search, looked through the FAQ's, 'quickly' scanned through 600+ subject headings in this forum - zilch so far. Now I turn to the collective wisdom of the Tek-Tips community for help. H E L P !!

I do know about the problem within IE6. I looked through and tried suggestions contained in the total of 259 responses, posted on this one topic, in 'Browser issues for IT professionals'. (Tek-Tips is one hell of an amazing resource) I have had a few troubles with IE6 not displaying some images - but they are few and far between.

I'd be really gratefull if anyone out there could steer me in the right direction or, best of all, offer a solution to this problem :)

check the image path to see if it's relative to the site or page.

Cheers for answering DeCojute. Here comes my 'Duh!' moment ..... I'm not really sure how to check to see if it's relative.

The only info I managed to get on the image was:

(a) Edit Tag:
<img
src="Images/FredZep.jpg"
width="150"
height="126">

(b) The Properties shown when I right clicked on the Red X box:

Protocol: File Protocol
Type: Not Available

Address: file:///E:/Images/FredZep.jpg

Size: Not Available
Dimensions: 150x109 pixels

Created: Not Available
Modified: Not Available

Does that help?

Ta GUJUm0deL. Your post came in just as I was submitting my 'duh' admission.

I'm off to check out the examples at the link you gave

Set it to Relative as GUJUm0deL showed you.
