I am trying to create a cross-tab through which users can drill-down to the detail underlying information. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I've tried using any combination of charts which support drill-down, but none of them have the effect of the cross-tab.

Thanks,
ejc

No simple way. In some layouts you could create a manual cross-tab (described on the 'formulas' page on my web site) and put an on-demand subreport behind each cell, with links so that it is specific to the row and column.

Ken,

Thanks for the tips... I haven't been able to get the on-demand reports to work properly. Do you know of a good resource for these? Also, using grouping and drilling down through the cross-tab I have created thus far is working well; however, is there a way to capture the origin or source of the drill-down (i.e., the field name or the column name)? If I can capture this, then I can suppress the appropriate records in the detail section and this will give me the results I'm looking for.

Thanks,
ejc

There is no way to distinguish a column on a regular drill down, which is why I think you will need some on-demand subreports. The only resource I know for this is a guide I sell on my web site. It is expert technique number 54:

Is there no way to determine which field is being drilled into?

Not that I know of. Maybe if you are launching the report from within VB code you might be able to use a 'click' event, but nothing within the regular report designer.

Ken,

Thanks for the help... as I find time, I'll have to look into on-demand subreports.

Thanks again,
