Hi all:
When using ptoject 2003, I have a task, with 2 resources assigned, with weekly timeline, I assign 40 hs each resource on certain week, so the task has 80 hs assigned, everything ok up to there
As soon as I assign another resource to this task, this resource gets automatically assigned some funny hours e.g. 1.27 hs
I guess it's trying to distribute the 80 hs I had originnally between the 3 resources, but I don't need this, I need the other 2 to continue having 40 hs each, then I'd like to put 40 hs to the third, so the task will have 120 hs
Can this be done?

Thanks in advance!

1. Starting point
1.1 View > Gantt
1.2 Window > Split
1.3 In the grey area in the bottom half, rightmouse button, select Resource Work

This, by the way, is the view I do so much of my work in.

2. Update
2.1 In the top half, select the task
2.2 In the bottom half:
2.2.1 In Resource Name, enter the 3rd resource
2.2.2 In the Work column, enter 40h
2.2.3 Press <enter> twice

Done.

HI PDQBach, thanks for your answer! I'll try right now!

Did you have the chance to take a look at the other thread you were helping me with? (the one that stopped calculating after doing grouping)

Thanks again

aracioppi,

If you wish to add additional resources to a task and have project simply calculate work for the newly added resource based upon task duration and assignment units, ensure the task is not effort driven.

I'm with PDQBach on his comment, working with the task form visible in the lower portion of the screen is a easy, effective way to view individual resource work assignments as well as control whether a task is effort driven and which task type is applied.

@aracioppi

Sorry, that other question seems to have slipped my mind. I'll go back and have a look.
