Hi,

Can anyone help me, I am unable to view avi files on my machine. Previously I was able to do this, however, in the past 2 weeks I am unable to view them, however I do get the sound. This does not occur for all avi files.

I don't recall installing anything recently.

Can anyone suggest a resolution to this problem.

Thanks

Try reinstalling the CODECs...

Codecs can be found at , try a Codec Pack like the K-Lite Mega Codec Pack (which I am using, it has all the codecs you will ever need)...

you may also wish to look at Sherlock the Codec detective, to see which codecs are/might be defective...

There is a program with the unfortunate name of G-spot which will tell you what codecs you need if you open the AVI file with it.

cheers downloaded g-spot. All videos work fine now.

Thanks guys for your help.
