On some movies, when I try to play them, I get this error:

DDHELP caused an invalid page fault in
module WINMM.DLL at 015f:bfe13531.

It only happens on some videos, not all of them. I was wondering if anyone has any suggestions on how to fix it.

I'm running Windows 98 1st edition on a AMD XP 2000+

I saw that, but that is about The Lost World game. I don't have it, never did.

Does this only occur when playing a specific type of movie file ex. avi(DivX)?

How much physical mem do you have?

Have you modified ANY VM settings ex. swapfile?

Are you running short on HDD free space?

I have over 20GB free space on my HD

Seems to happen on some movies, others play fine

My swapfile is windows managed

I have 256MB ram

Regarding the movies, the ones that cause the crash, is this behaviour specific to only one file type - mpeg, avi, rm, qt, etc. If so, I recommend reinstalling the codec.

Otherwise, see what version of DirectX you have and maybe upgrade or reinstall current version. This is where the DDHELP file comes from.
WINMM.DLL is installed with the Windoze OS. Also check that this file is not corrupted by running SFC.EXE.

Let us know if anything here works.
