I have 2 5610SW IP one will allow me to do 24 programmable keys the other one will only allow me to do 12 programmable keys these are both identical phones on IP Office 500 level software 5.0.18 am I doing something wrong? I have worked on Nortel most of the time Avaya is all new to me. Thanks

Have another look, I bet one is a 5610IP and the other one is a 5410DS (Digital Station)or a 5620IP.

Thanks BAS1234 I have both of these in our lab they are both definitely IP sets they are both marked under the handset with letters 5610SW IP

The problem seems to be with the set it self when you are useing the page left and page right it only on two pages but on the other phone you can use 4 pages which gives you the full 24 programmable buttons.

i think there was a change where 5610 went from 2 pages to 4 pages.

are they both the same age? i think there should be a year printed on a bar code serial number.

are the MAC addresses similar or wildly different?

you can set the phone to use the 4 option menu buttons to be soft keys too..... check that.

press HOLD , view (8439) , # to see if they have the same firmware running.

I think one of the 2 is a "hotdesk user", they have 24 keys instead of 12. try *36 on the one with 24 keys to see if it logsoff and becomes a "nouser"

I believe that it change somewhere in 4.x where you will get more pages.
It is a firmware issue i believe.

I believe that this is a version of phobe issue, we have installed 23 5610 IP sets and only one of these sets has this issue, upgraded Bin files from 5.0.15 to 5.0.18 and did not resolve the issue.

5.0.15 and 5.0.18 are the versions of IP Office firmware.

Did you upgrade the firmware on the phone itself?

Phone firmware from release 5.0.15 has 12 buttons, but not when you programm the extension as a Hotdesk user. For 5.0.18 I haven't tested it yet. So he miht ive it a try. In the TB 113 they did not mention it.

This change somewhere but can not remember where
from the knowledgebase:

4610/5610 Phone:

The Telephone

This guide covers the use of the 4610 and 5610 phones on IP Office. These phones are physically similar, however the 5610 is only supported on the IP Office whereas the 4610 is supported on a range of Avaya phone systems.

The diagram below shows the main phone features:

1. Display, Call Appearance and Feature Buttons:
The Call Appearance keys allow you to handle multiple calls with the display showing call information. There are 4 pages in the display; giving up to 24 system features that can be allocated to the function keys. The information displayed varies according to the active feature.
