Hi,

When i make calls using avaya workplace the calls are better quality with iphone than android phone.

How can i improve android call quality?

Thanks

Please explain in more detail what you mean with call quality. I have heard complaints that the low volume is an issue. Can you confirm that or are you talking about something else?

The audio quality in android is very poor.

Voice quality is so bad that calls are dropped.

In iphone does not exist this problem.

Ah, ok, thanks. I am not aware of calls that are dropping. The complaints I get is that thee volume is very low. So that’s something else. I can’t help I’m afraid, so good luck!

@ Rui Oliveria, maybe on cheap Androids, but good Android phones do not have audio issues.

That isn't a fantastic phone...pretty skimpy on specs, plus it's what, 4 years old now?
Are both phones using the same carrier?
Have you tried the call on wifi? is it any better?

I only use this phone with wifi, the quality of calls is very poor.

Do you have another android phone to try?
Is the phone updated to the latest software?

I will test with another android and yes the mobile have the latest update

I have an Android S8 and no audio issues whatsoever when I use Workplace

WiFi is tricky, are you having multiple WiFi networks around or are you mostly alone?
if you are not alone do they share channels or are overlapping channels
How many devices are on the WiFi

You could always try and boggle down the bandwidth usage to g.729 but I don't think it will help much as there is not a huge difference in bandwidth.
do you have a Laptop you can hook up on the WiFi and try with that so you can rule out WiFi as issue and if it still has the same problem connect to the network and try again if it then still has the same issue then either your Internet is crap or the Internet at the system side.

Seeing that you said the iPhone doesn't have this issue I think it might be your WiFi card on the Android rather than the workplace app.

With Android you have the whole range. From very good to very cheap crap.
We had a customer who ordered many phones form CAT because of mechanical robustness.
They were fine for GSM calls, but the WLAN chip was cheap, it could only send or receive but not both at the same time.
Imagine that on a voice call...
