Hello Gurus been awhile for me........quick question
IPO R11 UC V2 module in system with VMPro. Can Equinox or Avaya one XPortal run on UC V2 Module? or is a Windows server PC or virtual needed?

please help thanks!

You can install it, up too 200 users I think. But I am not a fan of the UC. They don't seem very robust. I would opt for a small server or even Virtual server to run the X portal. I don't believe you can run Equinox on it at all.

Equinox does not need a server at all, it connects directly to IPO and UCM supports upto 50 simultane One-X users.

Yes/no - there is no Equinox server part, just the clients. And for telephony the Equinox clients just need the IP Office. But for IM functions they need either a one-X Portal or Avaya Spaces.

Stuck in a never ending cycle of file copying.

I was not aware that Equinox could use 1XP for messaging - is this possible?

@derfloh I was not aware of SIP messaging either, only Zang, is there some documentation for this?

Thanks

Strange, a star on a wrong answer.
Worth a star on itself.

Out of interest how did they manage to get Equinox to work direct to the IPO rather than One-X?

Seems much simpler and nearer to the old Phone Manager.

@davea2
I know that UC/IM solutions are available that can do presence and messaging over SIP. IPO is not involved in that case. I guess since presence works without Zang or 1XP, SIP is used. You can check die for SIP NOTIFY messages.

From what I know, Zang Spaces is the only way to enable messaging in Equinox. Pretty bad because IPO could do that itself with SIP and European business customers don't want their messaging to be handled through US located cloud services.

Need some help with IP Office?

I'll start a new thread just for Equinox which may come us with same answers.

@derfloh

Thanks for that, I too have only been aware of Zang for messaging.
