Hi,

I was trying to setup AVAYA Delta Server 3.0 for my AVAYA IP Office 500, on 7.0.23 Release.
After I setup File Location and Enabled SMDR and select Comms and detected my IP Office & Applied Ok.
I get Comms Status : CommS Failure.

May I have any solution or any upgraded version.

Your response will be highly appreciated.

-Thanks,
Sam.

SMDR is now output direct from the system. Delta server hasn't worked for years and is deliberately blocked from working :)

Thanks for the Information.

How can I get SMDR Output directly my AVAYA 500 Series- Relase 7.0.26 to my PC.

Any solution or setup required.

-Thanks,
Sam.

I tried to setup SMDRSERVICE.EXE by Following Steps.

But Still cannot see the Report Folder Path

Installation Steps Taken.
The service must be installed using ‘installutil’, from an elevated command prompt change to the directory containing “SMDDService.exe” and run:

%systemRoot%\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v2.0.50727\installutil SMDRService.exe
This will spawn a service listening on TCP port 3000. Logs of calls will be stored in the “Reports” directory, one file for each month. The final step is then to configure your phone system.

-Thanks,
Sam.

The steps are correct.

1º Check that the services start.
2º Check firewall
3º Check IP OFFICE config. IP and port of the computer it's running services.

You still need to programme the system, that software is just freeware written by a third party, it doesn't programme the system for you :)

1º Check that the services start. - AFTER LOOKING TO BELOW LOGS I FEEL, SERVICE IS RUNNING, I DONT SEE ANY SERVICE IN SERVICES LIST.

2º Check firewall - CHECKED FIREWALL.-DISABLED.
3º Check IP OFFICE config. IP and port of the computer it's running services.-CHECKED ITS CORRECT.

Thanks...May I know the Software to program.
I believe it should be done from AVAYA IP Manager.

You may use hyper-terminal for windows.

setup your avaya to output SMDR:

System->SMDR->;
Output=SMDR Only,
IPAddress: <ip of your pc where hyper terminal is running>
TCP/IP Port: <port for communication>

Configure your hyper terminal and point its IP to IPO's IP.
Once loaded, press Disconnect, and select Wait for a Call.

We used this in our deployments, I don't see any problem it won't work at your end :)

HTH.

Perhaps you need to hand this over to your maintainer?

As peter said, SMDR via delta server hasn't worked since rel 6.

the SMDR TAB in manager isnt that hard to figure out, and a simple press of F1 will help you no end.

Thanks Everybody.

But, Im wanted the report on my Windows 2008 Server, on which I have Avaya IP Office Manager loaded, but it doesnt have hyperterminal.

try kiwi syslog this is easy to set up and free and will continue to work after the trial runs out , but a HSM says Manager and F1 will work wonders on the set up side of the IPO

SMDRService.exe it's a great and simple util.

Check that service is START.

By default when you install SMDRService.exe, it's in AUTOMATIC, but stopped. You must start manually, and then in the next computer's reboot the service START automaticly with Windows.

This thread leads to nothing, a qustioneer who doesn't know sh*t of his system and helpers who are stuck in handing over a solution that doesn't seem to work or only answer the question partially.
First @ ITSupport5589 : start to get informed about the IP Office and how stuff works efore asking questions, Google is a great help on that

Second, there is no free SMDR software, only free data loggers.

Besides the SMDRService software I found this helpfull as a datalogger.
Go in Manager > System > SMDR Select SMDR Output only, fill in the IP Address of the PC receiving the data and select the to use IP Port. Reboot IP Office.
Start the datalogger and make some calls to see if it is working, the data is only send after a number of calls and not each call will be send direct after completing, it is a bit unpredictable when data is send.

Then you have the raw data in a file, you could import it in Excel and build your own reports etc.

My recommendation is to spend some bucks and buy a real logging and reporting tool like Xima Chronicall, it works, they provide help, you can schedule reports so they are dropped in your mailbox while you are sleeping ( or doing something else, I don't want to know ) and the next working day you have a nice readable, reliable report without spending hours of interpreting the raw data.

A simple mind delivers great solutions

Hi all,

Does the SMDR function right out of the box? Is their a license needed or anything else needed to have it output to say Trisys TapIt?

Thanks

Derek
