I want to change about six hundred stations with names to have no names associated with them. Based upon having a COR of 8 or 9.
Is there a way to export this info and change it and then import it back into ASA. I have tried it but not having much luck.

I would just use ASA to export all users with just the ext. numbwer, cor and name fields. Then use Excel to sort based on COR. Delete what you will not be modifying, add names then import using the change option.

Hope that helps

The problem I am having is importing the information back.
I select import and select the change command radio button and hit okay and get a screen in a spreadsheet format. I am not given the option of selecting a file to import the changed data.

Use Ctr key and the P button to paste it in after you have it copied from the spreadsheet. It doesn't list an option in the radio dial but it will work.

Okay I have got the info into the grid how do I get it into the switch?

By the way it is ctrl V not ctrl P!

As I mentioned in the first reply, first do an export with those fields. Find out where the export is saved to, then open with Excel. Dunstan is correct...use control P once you have modified the file in Excel. Just paste into the blank doc

I tired ctrl p and noting happened so that is why I chose ctrl V

You can also import from a csv file if you select the folder button in the upper left hand corner. Its in between the floppy icon for save and the schedule icon. Before doing so, be sure to arrange the columns in ASA to match those on your spreadsheet, i.e. extension, name, and COR. To move a column, click once on it to highlight, and then select again and drag to the appropriate spot. As a side question, does anyone know how to save the grid format in ASA so it appears how I want it to everytime, as opposed to the default? Thanks.

I think twix79 is on the right track. If you have the extensions and new names in Excel, you can just copy the columns over to the Import screen extension and name columns. When you first hit the import button, you want to select "Change Command"

In the future everything will work...

Thanks for every one for your input I have got it to work as I wanted.
