My IP telephony operations background is with Cisco equipment. Now I am dabbling with Avaya equipment. I need to trunk a sip call to pstn over isdn.
Details: I'm trying to set up a sip trunk to route calls that originate on an Avaya CCS 2.1 sip proxy to an isdn trunk on Communication Manager 2.1 on an s8300 in a G350. The isdn trunk works fine - it permits an analog phone connected to the G350 to make calls over the isdn using the same route pattern that I'd like to use for sip->pstn.
Then I set up a SIP ds1, signaling group, trunks, ars, route patterns, etc according to the recommendations in "SIP Support in Avaya Communication Manager 2.1.1", doc id 555-245-206, pages 15-16
I'm unsure about what kind (if any) of route pattern to set up that will allow sip->pstn trunking. I also wish I knew where to look to diagnose what is happening with a call that is supposed to travel from sip -> pstn, but it times out and plays reorder tone.
Has anyone else set up sip->pstn trunking? Any ideas?
Regards.
