If we need to install Avaya SBC virtual platform, we see that current CM version (6.3 ) will not support SBC on virtual platform as per Avaya matrix. Do we need to upgrade the CM to 6.3.6 to install SBC ova 6.3? Also any upgrade needed on session manager/ System Manager-6.3.20

Session Border Controller for Enterprise ( Avaya )

You might be getting confused with Avaya's version numbering. And nobody could blame you. There was no market offer of "Avaya Aura 6.3" only "6.2" with "feature packs" 1 through 4. Each of those market offers has a software lineup of all the components that make it up.

So even though System and Session Manager on 6.3 have 20 service packs, they were all introduced in "Avaya Aura 6.2 Feature Pack Whatever". Stupid, eh?
This link provides a bit more detail:

Otherwise, don't worry too much about the SBC compatibility stuff. It's strictly a statement of what has been tested with that version of SBC.

SBC has minor releases 6.2 (very old), 6.3 (couple of years old), major release 7.0, 7.1 and 7.2.

For basic SIP trunking, you don't have anything to worry about. Any SBC vendor will tell you they're 100% compatible with what you're trying to do. Whether that's true or not is another story, but they'll all tell you as much. You don't need to worry much about those statements of what versions were tested. When Avaya publishes that, they mean it to say for absolutely everything the SBC can do. Call center/IVR transfers from a SIP IVR to CM, remote workers with SIP hard/softphones, etc. That stuff needs compatibility statements and you should absolutely care. If your environment is simple and you're just replacing PRIs, it's no biggie.

Thank you! I am trying to use Avaya SBC for Remote workers. So Can I download SBCE 6.3 ova file startand purchase necessary licenses and start configuring
So my CM 6.3 will support right? I no need to upgrade my CM version from 6.3 to 6.3.6

Pretty much, yeah. CM 6.3.x is just service packs, not major upgrades. If you have a duplex pair and do it right, it can even be without downtime, so if you have support, going from 6.3.2 to 6.3.15 on CM is no big deal.
