avaya programming program

I'm taking over maintenance of an Avaya ACS with a remote programming card installed.

I would like to program from my laptop, if possible. Do I need a proprietary program or does something like HyperTerminal work? If I need a special program where can I get it and what is it called?

Any other information to get me a quick start would be appreciated.

You will need to download a program off of Avaya's website to be able to access the processor with your laptop.

R7 & R8 processors provide an Admin jack.

Having said that, if you use the software method, you will need to power cycle the system for the changes to take effect. If you program from EXT 10 &/or 11, the changes are instantaneous.

If it ain't broke, I haven't fixed it yet.
