ntTeaeboooting wahtly rm we installed AVAYA 16161 & 1608 at a certain institute and the phone works normaly for one and half yeasr..now what is the issue because the phone rebooting Endless!!!

I tried to enter the codes for restarting but nothing....?

The question would be 'what changed?' - was the system upgraded? There is a known issue that can end with the 1600's all having the same MAC address and going into reboot loops as a result.

If not that, the likely culprit is still some IP/MAC address conflict. If they were using DHCP, another DHCP server on the network now reassigning the same addresses will cause the same effect.

Stuck in a never ending cycle of file copying.

More information is needed. What version are you running on your control unit? Did you recently upgrade/downgrade your control unit? Was another DHCP server/device added to your network? Are the phones trying to download firmware? Can you see the MAC addresses of the phones through your DHCP server? Did you add new phones or all in place for the entire time?

My car won't start, it use to start, why does it not start? Answer my question and I will answer yours [thumbsup2]

The truth is just an excuse for lack of imagination.

Ditto to what critchey said, more info is better then none. Not knowing how many phones you have, can you keep at least 1 phone up and working?

The end is near!

I had a situation kinda like that on one of our expansion modules for our IP 500. Our issue ended up being a bad power supply..

Mojoputter the genereal rule for faults with ip handsets is:-

It IS the data network!

considering the fact that this ha worked for over a year previously what has changed on the data network?

be carefull, when asked the network maintaninge will often say "Nothing has changed" when the actually mean something like "We did replace all of the routers last week"

Do things on the cheap & it will cost you dear

I ran into a bug with 16xx sets and HP switches back on 8.1, the phones would restart after ~10 minutes randomly. This was a known issue and has since been fixed. Just throwing it out there. :)

I have had the issue often where a power outage corrupts the bootloader on the handset, no fix that I know of other than shipping it back to Avaya, in this situation the phone does not even get to the stage of requesting an IP Address so looking for the mac address does not help and any network changes applied do not relate to the issue either.
