Does anyone have a solution for syncronizing the PBX and CMS time with the network time?
We have a win2k server running a workforce management solution that is capturing data from CMS.The times between the CMS and win2k box are different, which can adversely affect the staffing model. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
We are running Avaya G3Rv8 and CMS/CentreVu v8.

Your best bet is to have ASA automatically synchronize the switch time (outside opening hours) with the PC on which it is installed. This PC should get its time from the network.

What about CMS's time? Will it be updated from the switch?

Yes, but your workforce management machine may not - depends on what it is and how it is connected. You should also not confuse the cms local time with the time indicated in cms reports - these two are seperate. I think you should only worry about cms local time if you plan to run cron jobs etc. But others may correct me here, so hang on in there for a while...

The Master ACD for clock synchronization with CMS is configured in System Setup -> CMS State (if you have more than one ACD). The reports for the interval when you change time (in ACD or CMS) will be lost, so it´s better to be done late night.

You may want to check sunfreeware.com for an NTP client for your version of Solaris. You might also try a google seach for "solaris ntp client". This would at least allow you to sync to a specified NTP source.
