Has anyone heard of Avaya going on the warpath and dumping under performing partners? I have heard some rumors about this and just wondered what is going on in other parts of the U.S and world.
In New York, they are allowing any company that had even a remote Nortel affiliation to become a Business Partner. But I think if you don't meet your quota for a few years your pricing structure changes significantly.
The equipment quota is not a tough threshold if you actively sell new equipment. Certification is a bigger pain. You have to have recertify every two years.
I know of a partner that had their partnership taken away. It wasn't because of lack of certification, it was because they sold 2 large jobs that were not Avaya solutions. Interesting tactic on Avaya's part, but seems unfair.
We sell Mitel and Avaya, Avaya's money grabbing and stupid licencing and product offering decisions has cost them several sales to the Mitel side, but they only have themselves to blame
