Our Avaya Partner ACS phone system is about 25 years old (we're a non-profit). All phone lines blink red when we receive a call. If we don't answer immediately, it sends the call to the main voicemail (the greeting no longer comes on). If we answer the call in time, it says "goodbye" and the caller is usually still on the line. I'm looking for someone who can diagnose these issues. Any help is appreciated.

Can a picture of the Partner system be posted for us to see? I suspect there is a programming mistake, but in order to zero in on it, we'd need to see which modules are in there. 🙂

You have lost your programming, the voicemail system is no longer programmed correctly with the phone system, and it is trying to answer all incoming calls without knowing what to do with them once it grabs a line.

A photo of the control unit would help greatly, it would tell us what voicemail system you are using, what other expansion modules you have, and what exact programming needs to be done to get the phone system and the voicemail system talking to each other properly again.

There are 4 different voicemail systems that Avaya produced that can be used with your ACS. The programming depends on which version you have, and which slot in the control unit it is installed in. Just for kicks, press Intercom and dial 78, see if the Voicemail system answers.
