I have a Partner R3.0 upgraded to R6.0 with a remote access/backup card in it. Can someone explain to me how I connect into this unit with the Partner ACS software I have on my PC? I've read about several different ways, and I tried a few of them but have no luck, any experienced technicians have any suggestions on the easiest way to connect to the unit? I have the software on my laptop and would like to connect my computer somehow directly into it instead of calling in from an outside line if possible. Thanks in advance for any help! John

A direct COM Port connection is only available with an R7 system. All others will require you to connect through your PC's modem.

Also, You may have better luck getting responses for your system in the future by posting to the "Avaya(Lucent):partner systems" Forum. Just an FYI

so what exactly do you do to connect into this unit with a PC modem?

Hi djmwjk,
Get into system programming. Use #730 to input a password, keep it simple. Save by pressing "enter" (look at the programming overlay for your type of phone, there is a picture in the manual). Now connect your modem to a station port and go off hook, make sure you get intercom dialtone. Your modem should dial "76". You will hear the handshake and get a prompt for the password, enter it. You shoud be connected. Under "Administration", download system information. The rest is really straight forward stuff.
