This is a good time to call in a tech to reprogram the system for you.

TouchToneTommy is the patient one in this forum. You can find excellent step by step programming instructions for most items here in this forum. Use the search button. You can also click on the MVP list to the right and select Tommy and review all of his posts.

Tell us what voice mail you have, and what cards you have in the system, including the order that they are installed.

With that information, I can give you the codes to program the voice mail ports back into the correct hunt group, to get it working again.

Then tell us how the auto attendant should answer, ie day/night, how many rings, etc.

Also note what type of Partner processor is being used. If it is a Partner ACS R1->R6, there might be a good configuration saved on a backup/restore PCMCIA (if one is present). If it is an R7 or R8, there could be a good configuration saved either internally or on an external PCMCIA. [smile]

guys , looklike they dont care about the voice mail , that much tho they want it but 1st , i found out some few things
1-the redial button
they used to have one button of the buttons in the white area in the each ext. the on on top , for redial , and now its not working , looklike it has to be assigned by programing to redial function and another for history any help how to do that, i am used to nec phone system u connect ur pc and fix everything just like that , but here there must be a guid and u r my guide
2- when i connect the pcmcia card which says voice Messaging PC card (large), once its connected the problem is present and all incoming call just rings half ring and then caller get message says no one is available plz dial extension and then right away it says goodbye and hang up
but when its disconnected it works fine and phone rings normal , i think its either the card is corrupted , and here is it possible to connect it to computer and reformat it or missing programing results that problem

There are 5 different PCMCIA cards that could be inserted into the front of the processor:

1) Backup/Restore
2) Backup/Restore/Remote Access
3) Partner Voice Messaging (Small)
4) Parter Voice Messaging (Large)
5) ASA/DXD

The PCMCIA I was thinking of is one of the backup/restore ones. Does the system have either of these? What is the revision of the processor?

the pcmcia card which says voice Messaging PC card (large)

Insert the card, and then go into system programming, dial #505-7-78-1, #505-7-79-1

What are the chances your system has a backup/restore card in it before you lost power?

What are the chances you could write out your questions using proper spelling and punctuation?

ok guys , my helper, god bless u all ,
the card is PARTNER MESSAGING PC CARD (LARGE)
AND AS I SAID IF IT's plunged in the phone system acts funny and gives half ring and fowrward the caller to voice message then hang up right away
and also they want to get the history button back
plz i need help

Tony! Where have you been!?!?!?! 2 1/2 months!

Anyway, follow my instructions in the previous post about POWERING DOWN WITH GOOD BATTERIES IN THE SYSTEM, inserting the Voicemail Card, and powering back up. Then do the programming that I listed.

For the REDIAL button, it is Feature 05

From Ext. 10 or 11:

Feature 00
Left Intercom button Twice
#505-7-78-1
#505-7-79-1
Feature 00

Then go to each phone, and go
Feature 00
Press the Redial button
Press Feature
Dial 05
Feature 00 to quit

thanks a lot , for ur help and plz excuse my language as English is not my 1st language ,, i will do my best to write in the propel English
i will start what u advised , i will shut down and insert the voice mail card , then turn on, i dont think there is backup unless that card we have hold it, as i said it says VOICE MESSAGING PC CARD(LARGE)
do u think it could hold back-up?? now i am trying what u said and will update the results in a minute

hi big boss
beautiful now i have the card in and the phones are ringing , i would like to
1- the history i programmed it , but once i click it , it shows end of log but there is no log, even if i click prev. or next
2- ask u to explain to me what we did , as i see we put hunting groups 7 to value 78(what does it mean 78) and assigned ,
so now they want to activate voice mail , how to access it and enable it , after 4 or 5 rings and how to record a screen message for caller once they forwarded to leave a voice message
thanks alot , iknow i am being too much but ur help is so big and so important and thanks again

ok so now i kind of getting things together about VM but i still missing few things so correct me if i am wrong plz
i had extension 10 to be covered by the voice messaging system.so now i should find some way so if a call wasnot answered after 4 Rings it should be directed to ext 10 but i dont wanna it to ring again ext 10 before it get to voice mail , so how i will make extension 10 direct all calls to voice mail??
then how i will access voice mail to listen to messages , i want only one mail box for all the phones
thanks guys

Hi Tony-

Hunt Group 7 is dedicated to the voicemail ports, and with your particular voicemail card, those ports are 78 & 79. That's what you did by programming #505-7-78-1 and #505-7-79-1

Now, if Ext. 10 it to have a mailbox that answers when Ext. 10 does not, you must tell the phone system to send the call to voicemail when the phone is not answered. That would be Auto VMS Coverage, which is #310. For Ext. 10, that is #310-10-1

Finally, it seems that you want to have calls from the OUTSIDE go to Ext. 10's mailbox if no one answers, and to do that you want to assign Ext. 10 as the Line Coverage Extension, #208. For Line 1, it is #208-01-10, for Line 2 it is #208-02-10, etc.

You also want to check another setting to make sure that the lines don't go the automated attendant first, and that is Group Call Distribution, #206, for Group 7. So, for Line 1, it is #206-7-01-2, for Line 2 it is #206-7-02-2, etc.
