Greetings,

I am in need of a solution. My customer has a Partner ACS R7, here is the problem: When the user at ext.31 (Partner 6D)(which is toll restricted and the privacy feature is on), can press a line button that is currently in use and interrupt the call and listen; but they can only interrupt when ext.31 (Partner 18D) has control of that line.

Ext.31 has the privacy feature on as well.

This is what I tried:

I changed ext.29 to ext.49 (which is not toll restricted, but privacy is on) and had the user at ext.31 access a random line (system is square, not hybrid), I was still able to butt-in.

I then changed ext.49 back to original ext.29.

I swapped ext.31 with ext.49

Ran the same test and had the same result.

For some reason, the privacy feature will not work for these 2 phones. Any ideas???

Thank you!

ACS R7 91?...dial feature 59 from any display phone and tell us what R7 you are at. Next, double check your automatic ext privacy is on for all the above mentioned extensions. F00-->left intercom twice-->#304-->dial extension number-->1 for on. As well, when they "interrupt", are the red and green lights on the line they are interrupting flashing in an alternate pattern? From what I am guessing..X31 can interrupt X29 and X49's phone calls. With AEP turned on, this should correct the issue.

left out that the above procedure has to be done from x10 or x11 with a 18d or 34d.

Thanks for the fast reply,

I checked the programming for the AEP, and it is turned on for all extensions system wide. The light at ext.31 is solid red, because ext. 29 is currently using that line already; so all the user at 31 has to do is press the red line button and they can access the call currently in place.

I am not currently on site, and do not have access to the pbx to get the version number. This system was installed new in November 2007, if that helps.

O.k., so when X31 presses the line with the solid red light, he/she now has red/green alternating lights when he/she is interrupting the call? If they do, the next question is did the installer do a system clear all before programming the system? My next step would be to back up the programming, default the system, assign AEP to all the extensions, and see if you are experiencing the same symptoms. If they go away, you know that it is some "bug" in the software.

When you press the red light, you hear dial tone, the light status does not change. I will attempt to default the system and see where that leaves me. Thanks.
