Over the weekend our office lost power. Typically, I will forward my office calls to my cell phone. As it is now, calls are being forwarded to my cell but the office line keeps ringing. To make the office phone stop ringing, I simply pick the handset up (there is a dial tone) and hang up. That stops the ringing until I receive another call to my office in which it gets forwarded to my cell and office phone continues to ring.

Anyone know how to program so it stops? Thanks so much advance.

I suspect you are receiving calls "outside" of your hunt group order. People often return calls via "Caller ID" now and do not call your Pilot # which is the only number forwarded to your cell. You may try and forward your "backlines" which may or may not be provisioned for call forwarding.

Just curious, Partner phones can be used with different systems. What type of Avaya system is being used? (Partner, Merlin or IP Office)

When you forward lines via phone company call forwarding, (pick up line 1, dial 72#, dial forwarding number), every time a call is forwarded, the phone company sends one ring as a "reminder" that your line is forwarded. The Partner will ring TWICE, even though the phone company only rang once.

Maybe your phone was set to delayed ringing before the power failure, and when the power came back, the programming defaulted to having your phone set to Immediate ring.
