Good Afternoon

I am testing Avaya One-X mobile with voip on the following scenario:

Avaya ip office 500v2 R9
UCM with One-x both R9
User Set as Power user
Enable Voip in user settings ticked

However voip is not working. When I turn on voip, the Icon on my mobile and tablet turns yellow with an error : The application is operational with the exception of the VoIP feature which is experiencing problems registering with the server. (error 16:0).

Does anybody have any idea about it?

Regards
Antoine

(?)= have you done this?
Assuming Android:

Clicking the trouble icon will display more information regarding the nature of the fault.

G.722 needs to be enabled and selected on IP Office in the Codec tab in the System form. (?)

The client supports G.711a/mu, G.722 and G.729A with or without silence suppression.
• VoIP feature will only be available on the application if:
• User license is ‘Power user’ (DONE)
• App is connected to IPO 9.0 or better (DONE)
• Device is running Android 4.0 or better (?)
• VoIP is enabled for the user in IPO Manager Done

By default, VoIP is disabled on the mobile App. To control VoIP, go to the Menu key->Settings->VoIP Operation Mode,
and choose one of the three settings
• Never: Which disables VoIP
• Wi-Fi Only: Which automatically enables VoIP when mobile is connected over Wi-Fi network
• Always:

The VoIP feature is certified to work and provide acceptable acoustic performance for these devices only:
––Samsung Galaxy S3 (?)
––HTC One-S (?)
• ‘Best effort’ VoIP support is provided on other devices but these may present any or all of the following:
––Difficulty switching between handset, speaker and Bluetooth
––Echo or voice distortion problems
––Inability to change volume levels
––Transmit and/or receive volume too quiet or too loud
––Wrong microphone being used

VoIP Client uses TLS on port 5061 (?)

The application logs continuously.
Log settings can be changed under menu>settings>advanced
A user experiencing problems can upload logs to the OneX server.

Menu>About>Menu> Log Upload to initiate the transfer.
Log upload will start with One X
Logs will appear in OneX server under the following directory
opt/Avaya/oneXportal/<version>/apache-tomcat/logs/smack-file-transfer
Log uploads can take several minutes to complete

App logs are quite verbose. Error log entries can be isolated by running this:
––grep ‘E/ScsCommander’ <name of log file>

Launch Code: Midnight Sun

We have Avaya One X mobile with voip working when we use a Linux app server but not when we try using the UC110?

thanks for your replies

IPmonkey - So you're saying that it wont work with the UCM module?

Hold music 34- I can confirm that G.722 i enabled and I am using android 4.2.2, Regarding phones we are trying it on a CubotX6 but we also tried it on a samsung Tab2 and an Iphone 5s and are all with the same problem. Also TLS using port 5061 is enabled.

Good Morning

I have installed an aplication server with onex and am using onex over 3g for better port forwarding through our firewall.

Basically I am forwarding ports 5061 and 5060 to the pabx and 5222 and 8444 to the application server. However I am still experienceing the same problem that voip is not registering with server.

However seing firewall logs I am not getting any requests on ports 5060 and 5061.

Any idea what problem might be?

Thanks
Antoine

Have you checked the logs?

If it's connecting fine apart from allowing you to use voip mode, it sounds like SIP registrar enable and/or SIP remote extn enable are unticked under System>LAN X>Voip

APSS/ACIS/ACSS-SME
not arrogant, just succinct.

Please be aware that in opening up these ports & especially the SIP ports you are exposing your IPO to potential fraudulent access.

You need to take extreme care to ensure all users & accounts have very strong passwords.
it may be more prudent to connect your remote hands via a VPN if available.

A Maintenance contract is essential, not a Luxury.
Do things on the cheap & it will cost you dear

Hi

Thanks for your replies

Sip registration is ticked and even sip remote extn. I cant get to the onex logs but from the firewall logs i can see that traffic on port 5061 is going to pabx and traffic on port 8444 and 5222 is going to One-x but no registration is taking place. What is the possibility of getting remote help on this please?

Regards
Antoine

Port 5061 is TLS and then on the IPO this option must be checked.
By default it is turned off!

BAZINGA!

I'm not insane, my mother had me tested!
