Avaya One-X Portal 7.0.16 service will no longer restart after Microsoft updates were done
One-X portal running on Windows 2008R2 server and updates have been done in the past on the server but seems since the last round of Microsoft updates were done the One-X Portal service will no longer start - error code 7024 , Exit Code 1066.
not a version mismatch problem
this system has been installed for a while without issues ( updates were done in the past )
In looking on the server the updates last done were Net Frame 4 Client updates only , but also seems that java was updated as well to version 7 update 21 about 5 days prior but did not become active upon a reboot would be my thought as in when the Net Frame updates were done but I thought that once the system is installed java updates should be disabled?
not sure if the Java update is the root cause for the One-X Portal service not starting as other Avaya services can be opened such as SSA that depend upon java
will try and remove any updates one at a time ( about 20 ) that were done the last rollout to see if this resolves the Avaya One-X Portal service not starting.
other then that I suspect the java update caused the issue but is it possible to remove the version 7 path 21 version and install an older more compatible version of java?
Otherwise one would need to uninstall / reinstall Avaya One-X Portal?
from the event viewer I can see that the service stopped abnormally after the updates while in the reboot process.

seen an issue for Avaya One-X Portal and a power loss issues - requiring a uninstall / reinstall but hoping this is not the case here as that mentions the 7024 event
