We have a Distrubuted office that connects to custs network, Their phones are 1608 and their pc's are plugged into phones, Whole set up is router to cisco 2950 to DO to phone to pc. Phones work but pc do not, plug pc directly into station port pc works but not at same time as phone, tried moving phone directly to cisco 2950 port and phone works, also phone plugged into phone works, but phone to pc still ndoes not work, any suggestions, cust has upgraded ios on cisco switch, and upgraded firmware on phones, rebooted all equipment and still nothing please help with insite.

I've had issues with the throughput on the 16xx series phones. As they're sold as the 'cheaper' version of the 96xx phones the throughput isn't guarunteed as they are on the 96xx. I think there is an Avaya white paper on this somewhere I'll try and dig it out.

I've found the white paper it's too big to post on this forum. If you need it I can email it.

The latest firmware version will fix the throughput issues on these models of phone. The 1608 version might only give you 10MB Ports and not a full 100MB port. The 1616 versions work perfect with the latest firmware. The PC is not working because you haven't turned the ethernet port on. Look through your 46xxsettings.txt file for the following area and make sure it's set properly: -

################## ETHERNET INTERFACES ###################
##
## Primary Interface Status
## Controls the speed and duplex settings for the primary
## Ethernet interface.
## 1 for auto-negotiate
## 2 for 10Mbps half-duplex
## 3 for 10Mbps full-duplex
## 4 for 100Mbps half-duplex
## 5 for 100Mbps full-duplex
## 6 for 1Gbps full-duplex (96xx phones only)
SET PHY1STAT 5
##
## PC Interface Status
## Controls the speed and duplex settings for the PC
## Ethernet interface.
## 0 for disabled
## 1 for auto-negotiate
## 2 for 10Mbps half-duplex
## 3 for 10Mbps full-duplex

SET PHY2STAT 5

yea did that, actually we have found the answer, one phone 1608 the pass through kept producing duplicate mac address and shut the whole network down, since the new avaya Distrubuted Office on it's poe ports has no spanning tree enabled, it allowed one phone to shut the whole thing down, once removed everyhing works fine.
