We have a customer with Avaya One X with an IPO V2 on 9.1

They are using UC Module as the server.

They have remote workers which are using communicator. They are receiving the below message;

Unable to connect to One X Portal
Network Connection Unavailable
The application will now log out and terminate any active calls.

I initially thought this was a local issue in their German office but I have logged into the softphone in the UK at another remote site and experienced the same issue.

If I log into the One X portal on :9443 everything looks fine and the same on port :7071. Although when I logged into :7071 yesterday it said management services were down and all other services active but after a couple of reboots this worked fine.

I have checked the leased line which is in the main office and there are no faults showing. I also rebooted the router in the office.

Please advise what could be causing this or any tests I can do whihc could work out where the fault is?

Also when the mangement services were not running I could not locate the UC Module on the discovery tool but it now shows above the IPO when I click on discover.

Do yourself a favour.

Go on site, take the UC module out of the IPO.

Go back to the parking. Put the UC Module behind the wheel of your car.

Step in the car, start the engine, put the gear in reverse and hit the accelerator.

Step out of the car, open the trunk. Take the server out of it.

Go back inside. Install the server with the IP Office application server installed.

I was hoping it wouldn't be that but I am getting a quote for a server now. I am pretty sure its that at fault

@Okkie: [rofl2]

@Josh: I wouldn't have put it like Okkie but yeah, avoid UCMs like the pest if at all possible.

You can leave the UCM in, it will fail within a few months anyway.
We have installed a lot of them and now we end up with a lot broken UCMs in our garbage stock.

As much as I have complained about some of things sales will get us into I am happy that we have 100% stopped selling UCMs. Nothing else in Avaya lineup compares to just how bad these things are in my opinion.

The truth is just an excuse for lack of imagination.
