Hi everyone, desperately looking for help.

We got ACS R6 and Avaya messaging R7 with 4 port card. I am having NO LUCK getting Automated Attendant to answer. Also when you dial 777 it randomly sometime answers on the first ring , sometimes you have to wait 6 rings. So Voice mail does work.

This is exactly what happens when you call into our phone system all it says "your call is being transferred" - exactly that and keeps ringing. Automated Attendant wont pick up.

We using 5 slot carrier.
Setup is 206E, 206E, ACS6, 206E, R7. The voice mail extensions assigned are 38,39,40,41. No other extension is assigned I checked it few times.

#206 is setup with all 5 of our lines with Option 1 (I did try option 3 same thing)

#506 is set to 0 on all lines, I tried 1,2,3 delay.

#507 is set to always on all lines

All lines are not assigned to any Automated Attendant ( this is per avaya manual, which says they all will go to Automated attendant 1). I did try assigning all 5 lines to Automated attendant one, with same result, No answer.

Also when you call into the phone system from an external line, I can see line 1 and 2 get light up at the same time. Which is very wierd. If I use line 1 to call Line 2 (the light goes on for line 2 and 3).

Other testing I did, Is I took R7 and repllaced it with our old R3. Keeping the new ACS R6 in and everything works perfect, Automated attendant pick up and everything works fine.

I also put old partner acs module back in and used it with R7 messaging, I get same result no automated attendant.

I am out of ideas, on what it could be. Maybe I am just missing a small detail. Where does this message come from "your call is being transferred". ? (it DOES not "your call is being transferred to receptionist) just exactly as I wrote.

PLEASE HELP....???!!! Thnak you!!

Easy there!!

You've programmed incorrect ports into Hunt Group 7.

The ACS R6 is Ext. 10 through 17

The 206 in slot 1 is 18 through 23

The 206 in slot 2 is 24 through 29

The 206 in slot 4 is 30 through 35

So the Voice Mail ports are 36, 37, 38, and 39.

Remove 40 and 41, and add 36 and 37.

The hunt group is circular, so when you dial Intercom 777, it hits 38; Answers OK. Next time, it hits 39; again OK. Next time, it hits 40, which is NOT a voice mail port, so it rings 3 times, moves to 41, which is also NOT a voice mail port, then moves to 40, and you get your answer.

On incoming calls, without 36 and 37 assigned, they pick up simultaneously, do not receive mode codes, and transfer to the Operator.

#505-7-36-1, #505-7-37-1, #505-7-40-2, #505-7-41-2

Will be trying this tomorrow, seems you absolutely right. But I am sure mail said 38,39,40,41. Thank you for advice.

All working today. Thank you for your help. MY manual I was using from R5 was wrong as it said 38,39,40,41.
