I am hoping that someone out there can help me with my query and thanks in advance.

I have just taken on a new telecoms role and the company I work for have just recently inherited some legacy Avaya/Lucent Definity PBX systems. I am quite familiar with the Avaya Communications Manager and it's management tool ASA and now I am wondering how far back or what system releases will ASA support. Unfortunately at this point I have no further information on the Definity systems regarding software release etc. so any help would be appreciated. Alternatively, can anyone recommend another tool that would allow me administer these legacy systems.

Thanks again

ASA will work fine with all of the older Definity switches. Any software version prior to V9.5 will reqire dial-up access (modem).

You could use the latest version of ASA. ASA is backward compatible so legacy systems can be managed. I am using ASA 6.0 and it works just fine. Dont know of any other application better than ASA.

Thanks guys, always grateful to the expertise than can be found on Tek-Tips
