Does anyone have an Avaya or definity tied to an NEC as ISDN PRI - no QSIG? If so can you provide configs for both sides?

Disregard. We had the protocol in the trunk form set wrong.

Gr8ful,
Can you post the settings on the NEC trunk form. I've been trying to get this setup but don't know the NEC switch.
Thanks,
JustMack

Well we thought we had it. We had an ISDN trunk between the NEC and the Avaya.

We can get calls from the NEC to the Avaya but we cant get calls from the Avaya to th NEC. The calls hit the trunk but we get "denial even 1195 circ/channel unavail".

Called Avaya and they sugguested we set it up as a TIE trunk with wink/wink instead of a standard isdn-pri trunk. We tried it and all of the b-channels go into inservice-active. We cant get calls through either way now.

Any advice? It's been a few years since I had to troubleshoot a T1 so I'm sure I'm missing something here.

JustMack ... I'll post the settings as soon as we get it working.

Thanks Simreal,
Right now we are getting "OOS/FE-PINS-idle" state on the Avaya side using NI-2 protocol. Here's the Avaya DS1 settings. We've tried various interface settings of peer-master/slave & network/user.

I couldn't get the tie trunk to work at all. The channels were showing in-service active and all calls failed both directions. I rolled back to setting it up as an ISDN trunk.

I back to being able to call from the NEC to the Avaya but I cant call Avaya to NEC.

Here is my ds1 setup: (I'll post my trunk setup in the next reply.

I would just add

Main Memory Version 11 Issue 03.00.126

As it turns out we could get a call from NEC to Avaya. For some reason when I was dialing a 4 digit extension the NEC was refusing to setup a channel for the call.

I changed ARDT to match a tie trunk to call manager that we have and its working correctly now.

We are now able to route all calls over to the NEC vie the tie trunk.

In ARDT the field was "DC". We had it set to 5 and we changed it to 15. apparently this effects the number of digits that will be translated by the NEC.

That's exactly where I was headede with this. I ran into a similar problem with a fax server. the DC setting was the culprit.

Everything seems to be working now. The only thing left to tack is to determine why Im not getting the Name or Number of the caller when comming accross from the Avaya to the NEC.

Any inputs?

In ARTD what is CDN 50 DPLY set to? It should be a 1 to allow INCOMING ANI. Check this for the B Channel only!

If using NI-2 protocol check ARTD CDN 112 "IND" set to a 1
