Dear All,

I am stuck up in a site for the past 3 days due to some unknown factors. All the rest of the functions except call transfer are working fine.

I tried to do some call transfers buy connecting additional 2 analog phones (Panasonic) to the present setup.

SCENARIO -1

The operator takes the call from outside. He presses the TRANSFER button, dial the user number and get his permission whether to transfer the outside call or not. If he gets permission the operator just put the receiver down. Now the outside caller talks with the user. The outside line does not get disconnected.

Mobile (outside caller) -----Analog Phone (Operator) ---Analog Phone (user)

Mobile (outside caller) -----Analog Phone (Operator) ---IP Phone (user)

Mobile (outside caller) -----IP Phone (Operator) --------Analog Phone (user)

SCENARIO - 2

An internal user-1 calls an internal user – 2. He talks for some time and asks to transfer to internal user – 3. Internal user- 2 press the TRANSFER button and calls the internal user -3 and tells that internal user-1 wants to talk to him. He gives the permission and internal user-2 just put the receiver down. Now internal user-1 is able to talk to internal user-3 and no line gets disconnected.

IP Phone (inside user - 1) ---- IP Phone (inside user -2) ---- IP Phone (inside user -3)

SCENARIO - 3

Mobile (outside caller) -----IP Phone (Operator) -------- IP Phone (user)

The outside caller rings to the operator. He takes the call and is able to talk with the outside caller. The outside caller asks the operator to connect to the user.

The operator presses the TRANSFER button in 1608-I phone and Dial the user. The user picks the call. The operator asks for the permission to transfer the call. By this time the main line gets disconnected. The time of disconnection ranges from 5- 10 seconds.

A monitor trace or System status trace of this happening would be more useful :)

Always press transfer/complete to finish the transfer, never hang up. I've seen it drop calls when doing it that way.

Nothing I see in the programming eludes to any issue, so yes a monitor trace and ssa playback log would be helpful.

@AACon

Thanks for the info. actually i used 1 combo card as well as a EXT CARD PHONE 2 both fitted with IPO IP500 TRNK ANLG 4 UNI. After posting this i came across a technical tip which showed that for a combo card to be recognized the IP Office must be running a minimum software level of 6.1(20) or 7.0(12). the system i installed was running on 7.0.(5). Most of the trunk lines i used to test this issue were connected to the combo card. Later shifted all the lines to the ext card phone 2 and it worked fine without any disconnection.

I am a beginner and i have not received any training. So In order to upgrade the software from 7.0(5) to 7.0(12), should i need to delete the earlier configuration and start from the beginning or is there any upgrade licenses needed..please give me a solution.

TY

All you need to do is download the 7.0.12 (or 7.0.23, but some people have issues with it) BINS (I would download the whole admin suite though).

Once installed (admin suite), just do a file, advanced, upgrade and it will allow you to upgrade all of the modules/files. No need for a license or anything.

I didn't even notice the version you were running, but yeah that would have an impact on the system.
