Avaya IPO essential 9.1.4.0 software, Handsfree intercom issue

I have a IPO with 9508 phones. All phone have handsfree intercom turned on, so you can call a phone, it will beep and then you can talk to the person. When the recep calls a phone, sometimes the person she is calling cannot hear her and she cannot hear them. The next time it will work. Any ideas? Thanks

Something weird happening with the RTP media. Disable the old Allow Direct Media path on 2 extensions are re-test.

@IPOLackey - Direct Media/RTP not a player on intercom calls between digital telephones...
Maybe too much background noise and VOX circuitry isn't switching properly? I don't think that 9508 are full duplex in this situation... but could easily be wrong as there has been conflicting documentation on the subject.
