Avaya Ip500 V2 1408 WIRING

I have an Ip500 v2 system. I would like to connect the 1408 phone to the system. Can I run the 1408 phone off of an Ethernet cable connected to a networked switch. Or does the phone have to be directly connected to the Ip500 V2 system.

1408 is a digital station and has te be connected directly to a digital (DS) port....

Not a ethernet phone so direct to IP Office DigitalStation port

can you use Cat5 or better wiring to get from your telcom room to where the phone is? Yes
Can you run it through your switch? No
