Hello All,

I have a question about the Avaya IP Terminals (56xx & 46xx).

They have to load their software via TFTP.
What error may occur if they not load their software?

Maybe the load the software from 2.1 and the IPO uses 3.2 and so on.

What are your experiences?

THANKS

what happens is that they won't function the way they should be
why do you think that the software provided is provided ?
even the 2_3 versions are different in some cases
is this the same customer that don't want the ip office to have a static ip adress ?
tell this customer that he needs to give you a bit more room
also you can do this with a http server
al you have to do is put in the same files you should use on a tftp server
on the phone fill in the ipadres of the http server atthe location of the fileserver

Thank you tlpeter.

No, it is not the same customer. :)
It is a general question .

What kind of error may occur, when the IP Phones not loaded the right software? -> I only ask for your experience.

Do you know, which software do they have, when avaya is delivering them? 2.1?

the phones come with 2_2
my experience is that some little features don't work
in the old managers (before 3.2) you could use / and some tekst for on the display
so you could make a button with your own tekst
but this won't work with the basic software

If they don't load some software they won't work - simple.

In the case of having a different software loaded than is supplied with the IP Office Admin release it not possible to state specific errors, they may appear to be working fine for months before the users locate some feature that isn't working okay - its just the case that IP Office software X.Y will have been tested/trialled with IP Phone software U.V and so they are shipped together and should be used together.
