Hi guys,

I have a prospective client that wants to move to a SIP service (from a T1). From the GUI, I can see they have the following hardware:
IP 406 DS, Analogue POTS, Digital DCP8 and DIG DCPx16 v2. Under licenses, I only see a single license for VM Pro (4 ports).

How can I determine if the system is SIP compatible and would the customer need additional licenses or hardware to install and configure the SIP trunk?

Thanks in advance.
Chazz.

Version 4.0 and higher can do SIP trunking.
Go to control unit and lookup the version the system is running.

Hi,

Thanks. The current version is 3.2(67). Would this just be a software upgrade or do I have to get SIP licenses plus hardware (DSP resources)?

You will need a vcm card in the system.
System monitor shows if there is one in.
If the answer is yes then you need to upgrade.
Upgrading a 406 is for free.
You need to know is this is a 16mb version or a64mb version.
Again use monitor and look for: freemen=23323456 (the numbers can differ)
If the amount of number are 7 then you are stuck on 3.2, if 8 then you can upgrade.
Then you will need SIP trunk channel licences.
