Hi all..

I installed an IP Office system recently and found that the softkey Admin feature is not shown in the display and I searched the Web for an answer but didn't find anything useful.. Another IP Office I installed running 11.1 shows the Admin softkey next to the Feature softkey.. Anyone have an ideas .. I would like to have my clients program their own buttons to keep their bottom line from over heating..

Thanks in advance..

Johnny

Are the phones running the same firmware?

I used to be an ACE. Now I'm just an Arse.

I'm going up there tonite to setup voicemail to email. I would think that once I log into the KSU with the 11.1.2 Manger it would upgrade the firmware automatically..

I think you mean 11.1.0.2 - 11.1.2 would be the next feature pack.

Stuck in a never ending cycle of file copying.

See 'self-administer' in help? I am sure this isn't on by default.

Yes..it is listed in manager as 11.1.2.0..the zip file was 11.1.0.200.0

I'll check self administer in help and see if I can turn it on..

Thanks all..
Johnny

Maybe I am confused. I have never seen the admin soft key next to the feature key... What phone model?

Dermis and feline can be divorced by manifold methods.*
*(Disclaimer for all advise given)--'Version Dependent'

I'm using 1416's..if the newer versions of 11.nn's don't allow the Admin option softies to be displayed, what options does the user have to program a button to an external # besides the canned options using self administer?

Johnny there are 2 different version of ip office.

Essential and Basic
which version are you working on.

The Basic version has an ADMIN SOFTKEY .

The Essential version does not have an ADMIN SOFTKEY.

In the non-Basic edition modes, the option for a user to program their own buttons is under Features | Phone User | Self-Administration. Access to it is control by the User | Telephony | TUI | Features Menu | Self Administration option within the Manager/Web Manager settings.

All still supported in all flavours of 11.0/11.1 so if missing its either a bug, wrong phone firmware or Basic Edition.

Stuck in a never ending cycle of file copying.

No that is not how it works logging in with manager does not trigger phones to upgrade their firmware... Sorry to be rude but if you are installing systems you should know how firmware is distributed to phones.

As for your issue 99% sure the phone with admin was running basic mode and this system is not. You should see a major difference in the config between a basic mode system and standard mode system.

The truth is just an excuse for lack of imagination.
