Hi guys,

Is there anyone here tried to setup a call routing between Avaya and 3CX using SIP trunk?

The avaya version is avaya ip office 500v2 R10.1 and it has 4 channels of sip trunk licenses.

it's pretty easy, though, not very intuitive (at least on the 3cx side).

Yes

The truth is just an excuse for lack of imagination.

Hi guys,

Do you have a set up guide to do this?

I got waiting for line from avaya phone when I dialed 3CX extension number.

rsv23 I see that there is great help here. We are trying to accomplish this also, so if you have succeeded I would like to hear about it.

All we did was create a SIP trunk to the 3CX I did not do any programming in the 3CX. Then we had to create a short code access code to dial the trunk to the 3CX. I was pretty straight forward when I worked with the programmer on the 3CX, he had more programming in the 3CX because he could not create a wild card ICR he had to create individual ICRs for each user on his side to receive calls from the IPO.

@teletechman the outbound calls from Avaya to 3CX working is already working however, outbound calls from 3CX to Avaya still not working.

Do I have to create inbound rules also in Avaya to allow inbound calls from 3CX even this is for internal calls only(extension to extension).

I think you need an incoming call route for the SIP trunk's incoming group with just a period at the destination

Thanks guys that is more helpful. I don't have issues per say as I have not started the setup or testing as of yet.
We had tried to implement it and ran out of time and switched to a class 4 to the IPO. So now we have to set-up and test.
Thanks again.

@TouchToneTommy thanks for the input. It is working fine now. internal calls are working on both systems now.

Next step is to allow 3CX to call external number using Avaya system when dialing prefix 6 + mobile number, it should use the avaya system to dial out. Please let me know if you also steps for this.

external calling from 3cx to avaya is working fine now.

The only pending is external calling from Avaya to 3cx. Is there any additional shortcode for this?

Do I need to create additional SIP line for the external calling in Avaya to use 3CX?

The 3CX system needs to send numbers to the IPO, including the digit to dial out (typically 9), so when the number hits the IPO it knows to dial out. In IPO world making one system dial out from another is very simple. I don't know 3CX to help with that side though.

The truth is just an excuse for lack of imagination.
