I need to be able to connect in remotely to some customers who do not have vpn setups or remote desktop.

I know it is possible to connect in via the RAS on IP Office and i have been told i need to get an ISDN Modem converter for my laptop.

Any suggestions would be great as i have no idea how to go about this.

you connect using dialup networking
for a default IPO you need the following settings

Tel :<any valid number>
password: thepword (You did change this right?)

also your pc needs to adopt the IP address 192.168.99.x if dhcp is disabled

I do not Have A.D.D. im just easily, Hey look a Squirrel!

Ok, i'll try that. So whats all this about an ISDN modem? Do i need one?

Can i still do this even if the remote system is standalone?

You need an ISDN modem to dial-in to an ISDN/PRI telephone line.

Denny thats all well and good and sorry for sounding like an idiot but i have no idea on the connectivity for this. Is it just plug and play?

Don't forget - you will also need an ISDN line for your modem to plug into.

Take Care

I have always wished that my computer would be as easy to use as my telephone.
My wish has come true. I no longer know how to use my telephone.

You could always use an item called teamviewer 6.0 if you are struggling for remote access i.e if on alog lines or dont have fully access to opening ports on the sites network

Has anyone tried to dial into a R7? For me, the modem answers, and it says "Verifying username and password", but it does not like the paasword. I left the password as the dafault (i.e. thepword). Any ideas?

Check the LAN1 or 2, one of them needs to be on "dialin", or give the dial in a static IP in the range of the Lan1 or 2 IP address.

If LAN1 is configured as a DHCP server either for all LAN devices or only for DialIn then your PC will get a IP Address from IP Office, if DHCP DialIn is choosen the IP Addres is the ip address of LAN1 + 1.
If no DHCP server is choosen then by default IP Office has a IP Route to DialIn with the IP range 192.168.99.x.
Give the RAS connection on your PC a ipaddress within that range.
Best practice is not to have any network connection on your PC before dialling in on IP Office, you will not have access to the customers network.
Changing RAS setiings on your PC can be done by open a DOS box and enter "rasphone.exe"
